Victor Osborne hats are all handmade in the New York City store atelier. The blocked hats (felt or straw, depending on the season) are hand blocked, finished and trimmed using traditional millinery techniques that have been used since the beginning of the craft.
Victor started making hats as a hobby in between his women’s wear courses at the Fashion Institute in New York. He was very intrigued by the process and the more sculptural qualities to millinery opposed to fashion design. He started working with various milliners while finishing school and took a real shine to the craft.
In the summer of 2005, passion finally met with career when Victor started his label on a small scale in Montreal, making limited styles and selling mostly in Canada. In the summer of 2007, he moved operations to New York City where he set up shop and atelier in one in Williamsburg.
