CHRISTOPHER LEE SAUVÉ

New York-based artist fashion impresario CHRISTOPHER LEE SAUVÉ is a momma’s boy. Whether he’s drawing inspiration from punk nuevo Brooklyn street kids, or his idol Andy Warhol, this Canadian-born designer always looks back to his mother for inspiration. “When I was a child, in the early 80’s, she would create her own over-sized, silk-screened, bold-graphic t-shirts,” recalls the artist from his Brooklyn studio, “she would cut and rip the neck and wear them as elegant evening dresses.

It was revolutionary.” Not content to wallow in her shadow, SAUVÉ recently burst onto the cultural landscape with his own line of t-shirts that have become controversial collector’s items after being embraced by THE NEW YORK TIMES, NEW YORK MAGAZINE, VOGUE, ELLE, PAPER MAGAZINE and PEREZ HILTON.

We are lucky to know this young man and we are proud owners of his tee's (as seen below on Mohammed) and we hear stories that he will be working with Dubai based t-shirt label "house of glaMO".

After going back to his home land Cyprus in 2004 he created the brand Natar/Yastrobnik with Tomas Yastrobnik, showcasing in London, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria and Cyprus.in various exhibitions and fashion weeks.

In 2009 he created his own label under his name Dimos Natar (his actual name is spelt Demos Nadar), participating with Harper’s Bazaar Fashion week. Knitwear is a strong point in his collections, creating his own fabric and using various handmade techniques.

At Mens Memoire we look forward to see what he has yet to develop as he looks extremely promising. We love his designs entirely and hopefully we will get a chance to get hold of some of his pieces. Geil magazine "Save The Males"

Whatever happened to manly men on the Fashion Show's !!!!
Geil magazine chief editor Daniele Mancinetti and his fashion director Benjamin Armand addresses this case, by naming their upcoming issue "Save the Males".
Daniele explained that real males on catwalks seem to have disappeared, replaced by skinny 'womanized' teenagers carrying handbags and wearing hot pants apart from the classical Armani and Bottega Veneta man, and the beefy statuary boys of Dolce & Gabbana and DSquared2, “real males” seems to be out of fashion, condemned to hard time trying to fit in slim pants or structured jackets."
The models that have been used for this issue are Marcus Andersson, Doug Porter, Ned Shatzer, Chris Mosier and David Axell, photographed and shoot by Idris + Tony.
Watch out for this issue coming out in September 2010.
